Whenever a students’ family member leaves us a comment, Mrs Elchaar will record it on a comment chart using the following codes.
Mum – M
Dad – D
Aunty – A
Uncle – U
Sister – S
Brother – B
Cousin – C
Grandparent – G
Family Friend – F
Other – O
At the end of August, the student who has the most comments from different family members will win a prize! The goal is to get as many different family members involved as possible during the challenge!
Having conversations through commenting is one of the best parts of blogging so feel free to ask questions in your comment and reply to other people’s questions.
Family members don’t have to comment on this post only, they are encouraged to comment on any post on our blog.

In Mathematics, the students in Five Green are learning about time. Without time we wouldn’t be able to have meetings, meet up with friends or even organise a party!
Take a look at the following time facts.
60 seconds = 1 minute
30 minutes = half an hour
60 minutes = 1 hour
24 hours = 1 day
7 days = 1 week
14 days (2 weeks) = 1 fortnight
28-31 days = 1 month
12 months = 1 year
365 days = 1 year
366 days = 1 leap year
10 years = 1 decade
Every four years = a leap year
100 years = 1 century
Can you think of examples of when the above time facts are important?
For example: we need to know when a year has passed to know how old we are!
